A-Level Courses

Students join St Albans Independent College because they are attracted by our small class sizes, excellent teaching and more informal setting. They benefit from our friendly, supportive and individually tailored educational environment.

The College offers an extensive range of A-level subjects which can be taken over one or two years.

Our intensive One-Year A-level programme is designed for students wishing to retake an A-level in one year, or for students who have experience of studying A-level and wish to take a new A-level. Students having completed the first year of an A-level elsewhere, may also be able to join the College to complete the second year of their course.

Students can choose from a wide choice of subjects and there are no constraints on the combinations which may be taken.

We are very happy to discuss individual requirements at interview.

Students achieve particularly well in their A-level studies. This is because teaching is good and their motivation to succeed is high. In 2016, half the grades were A* to B and three quarters were in the A* to C range. The majority of students are successful when studying A-level retake courses.
