St Albans Independent College is an accredited centre for the AQA, Edexcel (Pearsons), OCR and WJEC examining boards. We accept Private Candidate entries for most A Level and GCSE/IGCSE subjects (excluding coursework, speaking exam and practical components).
To make an exam entry, please complete a PRIVATE CANDIDATE EXAM ENTRY FORM. The completed form can be emailed to our Exams Officer or posted to St Albans Independent College, London Road Campus, 69 London Road, St Albans, AL1 1LN.
Please note that applications can only be processed if the information provided is accurate and the centre can facilitate the exams.
When making an exam entry you will be required to provide copies of the following documents:
• The completed Private Candidate Exam Entry Form
• Photo Identification (copy of passport or drivers licence)
• Details of previous exam sittings (examination statements or copies of results)
When completing the Private Candidate Exam Entry Form it is important to ensure that all of the information you provide is accurate.

St Albans Independent College cannot accept responsibility for exam entries where incorrect information has been provided. Thereafter, any amendments to entries may be subject to an amendment fee.

New A-level £265 per subject
New AS-level £160 per subject
AS/A2-level (Outgoing Specs) £115 per module
GCSE £185 per subject
Candidates with access arrangements will incur an additional fee.
Examination fees can be paid by debit or credit card by phone, by cheque or by BACs transfer. All cheque payments should be made payable to St Albans Independent College.
We will only be able to process applications once payment is made.
Entry Deadlines & Late Entries
Applications made after the entry deadline may still be processed, but will be subject to a late entry fee. If you have missed the entry deadline but still wish to be entered, please contact our exams officer to advise.
Late entries are made at the discretion of the College and will be subject to a late entry fee.
